Bridging the Gap Between Hospital and Home

Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation - Newark features an 83-bed Transitional Care Unit (TCU) that offers specialized programs for orthopedic and cardiac post-operative patients. Dr. Brad Bernacki is our orthopedic consultant, while Dr. Bryce Morrice assists with our cardiac program.

Our therapy programs are designed to meet the needs of each individual we serve. We have a large gym with state-of-the-art equipment. In addition to skilled nursing services, we are also home to a vibrant population of long-term care residents. Our center offers two distinct levels of Alzheimer's care, along with a private Hospice hall.

We are improving our clinical capabilities and staffing in order to accept patients with greater medical complexity than a traditional nursing home. This is increasingly important as many higher acuity patients require transitional care before they are ready to return home.
